I did quite a few sessions with loop wiz THePETEBOX, which started when we collaborated on a particularly ambitious venture. The idea was to capture each and every recording of the songs that would make up his debut album Future Loops. Each one would function as a presentable, standalone music video, and I wanted to do all of them without edits to reveal the absence of cheating and give an insight into how the songs are built through the looping process. The videos here are in reverse chronological order - a mixture of covers and original songs - ending with the Pixies cover which went viral and kicked off the whole crazy venture. That one was a trial by fire, using a DSLR for the first time without any appropriate accessories and trying to ride focus blindly for four minutes at a time. In subsequent sessions I added additional static cameras in order to pick up important moments from pedals or pads without having to move away from Peter himself. The one directly below this is a single-camera bonus session. If you’re arsed you can see a behind the scenes doc here.
